Twinning connections between rowing towns Henley-on-Thames & Bled

On Wednesday, 4th of July 2018, Ambassador Rupel attended this year's Henley Royal Regatta on the invitation of the current Mayor of Henley Councillor Mr Glen Lambert.

Henley Royal Regatta is a rowing event held annually on the River Thames by the town of Henley-on-Thames, England. It is undoubtedly the best known regatta in the world and is both one of the highlights of the summer sporting calendar and the social season.

Due to its similar rowing connections, an Oxfordshire town Henley is being formally twinned with a Slovenian lakeside resort Bled since 2013 in order to foster friendship, partnerships and links with two of Europe's most important rowing towns.
