Lakeland Voices from twined Sedbergh and Slovenian Choir Gallus Aeternus gather at the Embassy in London
Small town Sedbergh in Lake District has been twinned with Zreče since 2005. The primary focus of Sedbergh’s twinning consists of musical visits and school exchanges.
At the beginning of the day Lakeland Voices singing group, led by David Burbidge, first joined a Slovenian language Saturday class where they were enthusiastically joined by pupils in singing Slovenian children's song.
Ambassador Rupel joins Lakeland Voices from Sedbergh and Slovenian Choir Gallus Aeternus
At the gathering that followed at the Embassy, they were welcomed by the Ambassador Rupel and joined by Slovenian Choir Gallus Aeternus from London lead by conductor Jasna Mayer. Lakeland Voice also hosted a Singing Supper, where they were joined by other Slovenians living in London.
The event was aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and connections between both choirs who share the passion for Slovenian Choral music.
